We support international founders in Hamburg

Did you know that there is an active network for founders of international origin in Hamburg? Whether you have just arrived in Germany or are from the second generation here: many institutions and organisations offer support, tailored to your needs. Six of them introduce themselves in this video.

‘I am a tinkerer.’

Jacqueline De Lora from New Mexico in the United States prefers to sit in the lab. Together with co-founder Martin Schröter, she founded the deep-tech startup SURFACtoBioTech, which offers a new solution for biotechnological experiments. The company was founded in Heidelberg and is now based at the tecHHub in the Altona Innovation Park. Jacqueline explains the advantages Hamburg offers her startup in the video.

‘We are on the road at a perfect time.’

Dr Arik Willner will stay on as CTO at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) until the end of October 2025, and then he'll move into a new role as CEO of Impossible Founders. The gGmbH has a strong financial base in the Hamburg economy and has won the EXIST Startup Factories competition on a national level. Its goal is to encourage the growth of science-based startups in Hamburg. We met the CEO in his old role.
